Position Summary

The Dental Therapist works under the supervision of the Dentist and provides services to children 14 years and younger. They are responsible, under a dentist’s treatment plan, for fillings, stainless steel crowns, extracting primary teeth, and pulpotomy treatment. They also perform x-rays, sealants, fluoride varnish, impressions, local anesthesia, and oral health promotion. 
 
Qualifications

Education
Completion of a Dental Therapist training program with applicable certification, licensing and registration
 
Skills, Expertise, and Experience
Minimum two years’ experience as a Dental Therapist
Required to provide dental care in a variety of settings including temporary clinics in community settings

Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve goals and produce expected results/outcomes
